"I thought I would send you a photograph of Stuart Morrisey (aka Madrider) and my fiance Kev Yates (aka Honeymonster) which I took (I was in the support vehicle) when four of us (Amanda Hansford....was also with us in the support vehicle) did a charity ride around Wales in aid of Diabetes UK in September 2010. Kev and Stuart rode 1600 miles on their motorcycles and visited 85 castles in a week (no mean feat) in all sorts of weather conditions as you can imagine and managed to raise approximately £1,000 (including gift aid) for the charity. Kev is diabetic and had to manage his diet whilst riding and inject himself twice a day with insulin...........which is something he has to do on an daily basis.
You kindly donated the urban-glow hi viz tops for the ride and we just wanted you to know that they are brilliant, the best we have come across by far, and we also want to thank you for donating them. Obviously it is important to be seen and be safe when on a motorcycle and these tops are excellent.
The photograph shows Stuart and Kev at one of the many castles we visited during the charity ride, which was an interesting experience, and we hope that whilst raising some money for Diabetes UK we managed to raise people's awareness of this disease which was important to all of us".
Regards
Ellen Rogers (aka Casper)
